The teenage boy Feds one time investigated as probably being
connected to the Boston Marathon bombing notified ABC report today he
was shocked to see his face pop up on television and all over communal
newspapers.
Salah Barhoun, 17, said he went to the police
yesterday to clear his name after he discovered himself tagged in
images online. He had just gone to watch the race, he said, but soon
after the blasts, he was singled out by internet sleuths as looking
doubtful. government authorities passed round images of Barhoun, trying
to discover more data about him, causes notified ABC report.
Today
The New York Post ran a article boasting a picture of Barhoun and
another man encircled in red, but said it was unclear if they were the
identical as two potential suspects dotted by law enforcement Wednesday.
When he saw the front sheet article, with the headline "Bag
Men," Barhoun said, "It's the worst feeling that I can possibly feel…
I'm only 17."
Reporters found Barhoun through
social media and talked to him today at his dwelling. He said he had
really liked to run the race and when he couldn't, determined to watch.
Barhoun's junior male sibling, who declined to be identified, said that
it made his mother "sick and distressed" that her child had been
attached to the tragedy.
"It made her think he had done certain things wrong," the junior male sibling said. "My brother is not the bomber."
Federal
law enforcement told ABC News they are no longer seeking data
about Barhoun or the other man in the photograph released in the Post.
